Your hosts Palindrones return with their euphoric dance music and “Escape Velocity”; a carefully curated night of live performances featuring Palindrones and 3 original acts with genres spanning electronica, goth, rock, noise, cabaret, techno, industrial, dreampop and more:
Palindrones
An electronic music duo from Bromley, they craft immersive musical landscapes, mixing pounding beats and blistering synth drones, with a lush ambience, hypnotic organic textures, subtle pop melodies and haunting, esoteric lyrics that draw the listener into a dream-like reverie.
Laurie Black
Classically trained pianist, turned to the dark side of electronic synthrock. Performing in cabarets and Fringe festivals since 2013, she has become a “powerhouse of the cabaret circuit” EdFest Mag and is morphing the worlds of musical comedy and synthrock. Winner of Solo Show at Reykjavik Fringe and Emerging Artist of Adelaide Fringe 2018. Tour support for Adam Ant’s ANTICS UK tour May-September 2022.
Down From Above
A fusion of bittersweet melodies and menacing guitar riffs, juxtaposed with growling bass lines and underpinned by forceful, hard driving beats. Driven by the urge to be original, forward looking, and true to themselves, the band are bringing their unique melange of heavy soundscapes with trippy dark angelic vocals to the UK rock scene.
Negative Response
Negative Response from south London is a minimal synth, lo-fi cold wave project emerging from the post punk period of 1980. Using low cost synths and recording equipment and a DIY attitude, released 3 cassette collections between 1981 and 84. These collections have been remastered and reissued in recent times. Now Negative Response is once again creating songs retaining the original DIY attitude culminating in the successful all new “Submersion Therapy” album .
